Celebrate Earth Day

Main Logo
What IS Earth Day?
In 1970, millions of Americans concerned about the environment observed the first "Earth Day." The event, the brainchild of Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin, was designed to increase public awareness of the world's environmental problems. Students from thousands of colleges and universities across the United States participated in rallies, marches, and educational programs in a show of unity for the grassroots environmental movement.
